Calling all brides! If you are a bride-to-be you know how important hair and makeup is for the big day. I have many brides that want to look glamorous yet natural on their wedding day. There are many ways to create a natural look without caking on the makeup. Here is a step by step guide on how I do a natural bridal look (and a few of the products I use).
First we start with a light weight moisturizer, this can be applied with your foundation brush. Then i use a Stila makeup primer spray. This helps keep the makeup intact all day long.
I tend to lean towards stick foundation for my brides, it creates a flawless coverage without being too much. It also helps reduces shine on camera. Bobbie Brown, Benefit, Napoleon Pedris are just a few of the stick foundations I use with bridal makeup. Colors may not always be exact, in which case I mix dark and lighter to get the perfect shade. To contour use a shade a few shades darker then skin tone and bring out those check bones.
After foundation is applied, I use a translucent powder to create a more matte look. Blush can now be applied to the check bones, and any other area of the face lacking color.
Brows are a very important part of the facial structure, I always use a brow brush and darker shade of shadow to fill in brows. Follow the shape of the brow when filling in to enhance the natural shape. You can use this method to create brow in missing areas.
Use an eye primer on the eye lid, before applying the eye shadow. I tend to blend a lighter color on the inner lid and a bit darker towards the outer lid. I apply an even darker color to the grease to bring the color of the shadows out even more. Blending is key when doing any shadow, make sure there are no harsh lines after you apply your eye shadow. When doing a natural look I use browns, pinks, or champagne colors. Eye liner is optional depending on the brides preference. You can always use a dark shadow on the edges to bring the eyes out in a natural way.
Top this look off with some highlighter on the cheeks and mascara. Fake eye lashes are also optional, but I think they complete the look making the eyes pop.
